Manual Handling Module

Aim: The aim of this module is to enable participants through theoretical and practical training to support and care for themselves and others working in the wind industry by possessing the knowledge and basic skills of manual handling.

Learning Objectives: After the training, the participant will be able to:

1. Demonstrate awareness of the importance of carrying out manual handling tasks in a safe manner.
2. Demonstrate awareness of the risk of injury from manual handling tasks.
3. Demonstrate understanding of good manual handling principles.
4. Demonstrate correct manual handling principles.

Duration: 4 hours (including evaluation). Validity: 24 months.

Manual Handling module, part of the Basic Safety Training (BST) standard, trains wind industry workers to safely perform manual handling tasks in wind turbine environments. It focuses on identifying risks, applying ergonomic principles, and using correct techniques to lift, carry, and move loads to prevent musculoskeletal injuries. The module includes theoretical lessons on injury prevention and practical exercises for safe manual handling. It typically lasts 4 hours and is valid for 24 months.
